Impact is a sans-serif typeface designed by Geoffrey Lee in 1965. Its ultra-thick strokes, "compressed" look, and lack of white space are specifically aimed, as its name suggests, to "impact" and hold the viewer's attention immediately. Being a "headline" font, it is generally not used for body text.
- It is one of the web core fonts, distributed with Microsoft Windows. Impact is often used for image macros.
- There is a very similar looking font called Haettenschweiler
