Wikipedia:WikiProject Anime and manga/Collaboration of the Week
Every week, an Anime and Manga Collaboration of the Week will be picked using this page. This article must be directly related to either or both Anime and Manga, the aim being to have a featured-standard article by the end of the period, from widespread collaborative editing.
The project aims to fill gaps about Anime and Manga in Wikipedia. You can find a list of Anime articles on the List of anime. Only registered users may nominate an article or vote for the nominated articles. This is a descendant project of WikiProject Anime and Manga.

Selecting the next collaboration of the week
Considerations for nominations
- Please nominate only Anime / Manga articles which are stub, start, or B-class standing.
- If an anime / manga is popular, long running or is your favorite and/or the page is already of good quality, it can not be nominated here. Put the article on the Wikipedia Anime and Manga project's To-do list under an appropriate heading instead.
- Give reasons as to why an article should become the AMCOTW to assist others in casting their vote. You should begin your reason with a sentence such as This article needs attention because of a lack of information.
- AMCOTW is not an award. Keep in mind that when you are nominating an article you are acknowledging that the article is in need of attention (the article is a poor article) and that you cannot fix the poorness of the article yourself. If you wish to nominate a page for an award, nominate it instead to be a featured article.
Making a new nomination
New nominations can be made at any time and should be added at the end of this page. Please use the template provided at the very bottom of the editbox and change information between the asterisks. The line with # ~~~~ will add your name as the first supporting vote, there is no need to add your name since it is done for you, it will also add a timestamp. To nominated an article you must be a registered user. Anonymous nominations will not be allowed. Please register first if you wish to nominate an article.

If the page you are nominating already exists, please add to the top of its talk page:
AMCOTW candidate
This expands to:
This article is nominated for Anime and Manga Collaboration of the Week. Please review this page's entry and voice your support. |
If the nomination is made under a different name then the name of the article—perhaps by a page move—an optional parameter is provided.
XYZ
Voting
To vote you must be a registered user. Please vote for as many of the following candidates as you like. Please add only support votes. Opposing votes will not affect the result, as the winner is simply the one with the most support votes (see Approval voting).
To enter your votes, simply edit the appropriate sections by just inserting a new line with "# ~~~~". This will add your username and a time stamp in a new numbered list item.
If you wish to withdraw your vote, do not remove your vote; instead, add an asterisk and strike-through tags to your vote as shown:
#* <s>Username 08:59, January 1 2006 (UTC)</s>
Reinstating
Nominations will be current for a period of two weeks. At the end of the two week nomination period a nomination will be reinstated if it attracted an additional two votes or more.
Selection and archiving
The candidate with the most votes will be made the new AMCOTW once the week long term for the current AMCOTW has completed. In the event of a tie, the candidate that was nominated first wins.
Anyone may cycle the AMCOTW. Please perform all of the following steps to do so.
- If an article is selected as the AMCOTW, enter the article's complete title at Template:AMCOTW article and update the date in Template:AMCOTW article/next by one week.
- You may also add a relevant image to Template:AMCOTW article/image that will be displayed in the collaboration notice at the very top of this page.
- Add a to do list to the article's talk page: Todo and populate it with the reasons that the article was nominated.
- The template Current AMCOTW should then be placed at the top of the selected article's page. This expands to:
- When an article is no longer AMCOTW, please
- Remove the template Current AMCOTW from the article.
- Add the Past AMCOTW template to the talk page with the correct date in which the article first became AMCOTW:
**DAY** **MONTH**
- You can use insert today's date automatically with

- You can use insert today's date automatically with
- Add the relevant information to the History and Nominations and votes pages.
- Add a blurb to the Selected series page so that the article can feature on the Portal:Anime and manga page.
Pruning
Nominations will be moved to /Removed if they do not attract enough attention. When an article is removed from the nomination list, please ensure to remove the nomination tag from the article.
Items may also be removed if they are inappropriate for nomination (see Considerations... above).
Collaborating on the successful nomination
- Use the article's talk page to work with other uses on what needs to be done.
- See the Wikipedia:WikiProject Anime and manga project page on ideas on how to format and add content. A good start is to add and fill in the sections of the Template for infobox for anime and manga and to add categories to the page (such as "Category:Anime series", "Category:Manga series") if they apply to the page.
- If the article needs a rewrite or cleaning up and you are unable to do it yourself, add a tag to it from the Cleanup templates

There is further data regarding this individual's history on the Japanese Wikipedia page that needs translation and insertion. Image examples of his early and present mechanical design should also be added (Daitarn 3, the original Gundam Mobile Suit, Genesic GaoGaiGar, Impulse Gundam would all make good examples); accompanying analysis of his designs in perspective with his peers (Yutaka Izubuchi, Mamoru Nagano, Hajime Katoki) would also be welcome. Okawara was (and is) a highly prolific mechanical designer in anime, and one of the first in his field to be credited as such; this fact alone should be due cause for getting this article out of stub status.

There should be a list of episodes. Another good inclusion would be a descriptive list of the various countries Kino goes through. The manga of Kino's Journey will first appear in the U.S. in October 2006, and should supplement the existing entry. An analysis of themes would be welcome -- Kino's Journey is quite complex, and could include issues such as death and sacrifice, the complexity of human communication, how best to run a country, sexual ambiguity, etc.

Criticism and controversy is a mess. Most of the section needs a complete rewrite and is unstable. An anonymous user is trying to excise a huge chunk of info without giving a valid reason as to why it should be edited (in his words "Link to the article in the external links section") when it should be intergrated into the section itself. Examples of 4Kids edits is rife and a target for fancruft and needs to have several firm examples. No corporate history. It needs a fresh set of editors to bring this article, no matter how hated the company is, to being stable and neutral.

Nominated on 20 September 2006; Needs two votes by October 3 2006 to remain listed.
- Reason
- This article needs attention because the following things are wrong with the page:
The article itself is very, very vauge and barren. Not only is it currently missing a plot synopsis, but the writing is lacking in details about the story. For example, the characters section is very short and barely explains the said topic. In addition to this, much of the information is wrong and/or unimportant.
