South Park: Phone Destroyer is a 2017 free to play RPG card game developed by Redlynx Studios a subsidiary of Ubisoft. It is slated for release on both iOS and Android in late 2017
South Park: Phone Destroyer finds the Children of the small Colorado town play a new game this time based around the beloved children role playing game Cowboys and Indians. The Player once again takes the role of The New Kid as previously introduced in The Stick Of Truth. Players can obtain various versions of characters previously introduced in the South Park Television Series.
Plot Summary
The Kids of South Park, Colorado argue about a new game for them to play. Cartman dressed as a Sheriff decides the kids should play Cowboys and Indians. The Kids initially seem reluctant until Cartman suggests the New Kid can help the Cowboys win the game. Using FaceTime to contact the New Kid/Player he invites them to come and play by means of using their smartphone which he dubs as a powerful weapon that can assure their victory
Gameplay
Players play the game with a deck of cards which consist of characters from the South Park television series. Each card costs energy which restores over time. There are different versions of each character which the player can unlock through opening card packs such as Stan who is dressed as a Program from Tron, or Cartman who is either dressed as Sheriff or Awesom-O. Each Card has its own special ability and each card has its own unique purpose. Card packs are purchasable by way of In-App Purchases. Other gameplay aspects include real time Player versus Player battles, a customisable deck editor which the player can experiment with different card combinations in order to help them progress in the game.
Release
South Park: Phone Destroyer was announced during the Ubisoft Conference during E3 2017. It is slated to be released worldwide in late 2017. The game has been given a soft launch in beta in the following countries, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Brazil, Norway and Sweden.
