Ahmedabad First Citizen Gautam Shah will travel in BRTS bus for going to Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation Office. In the city, problem of traffic jam is increasing despite of many flyovers at various traffic junctions. To inspire citizens to use the mass transport system and contribute towards easing the traffic situation in the city. Gautam Shah in Maktampura (Juhapura) had visited persons from NGOs, social leaders and municipal councillors in the area. For promotion of Mass Transportation and No Vehicle Day in the city travelled in BRTS from Shastrinagar in Naranpura to Bhatta in Paldi on 25 February 2016

Gautam Shah is an Indian politician and an incumbent Mayor of Ahmedabad, a city in Indian state of Gujarat, since 14 December 2015. He was elected as 33rd mayor of the city. He is affiliated with Bharatiya Janata Party. He is a Councillor from Naranpura ward in Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. He is a businessman.[1][2]

Gautam Shah has business of surgical instruments; also working for insurance for LIC, NIC; got a terminal for the Stock Exchange and has got agency of Western Germany’s world’s biggest and number one company of disposable goods named ‘B/BRAUN’. [citation needed]

Gautambhai inherited all virtues to serve nation and society since his childhood. From starting he was a volunteer of RSS and had canvassed for Shree Umeshbhai Shukla of JanSangh in counselor selection of Naranpura ward of AMC. At the time of foundation of BJP on 6/4/1980 Gautam Shah went to Delhi then he participated in various programmers at Ahmedabad and from Ratibhi Patel’s guidance he started work for BJP. This way he entered in politics.[citation needed]

Then after he joined the student Council by project of Free Classes at Navarang School, which was a part of the project of Free Classes of Student Council in1981.

  • Gautam Shah started work for BJP in Naranpura ward in 1986 and in 1988 became minister of Naranpura ward. [citation needed]
  • In 1991 became ‘Mahamantri’ of ‘Yuva Morcha’ of Naranpura ward.[citation needed]
  • In 1993 became of ‘Mahamantri’ of ‘Yuva Morcha’ of Sabarmati Vidhansabha.[citation needed]
  • In 1994 elected without competition as a Senate Member from M.Com.[citation needed]
