Thanks for blocking User:46.99.126.68 yesterday, but it seems he's back with a new IP at User:46.99.26.108. Any chance you could help out with that one too? – PeeJay 10:32, 7 July 2017 (UTC)
- Seems like he's back at User:46.99.105.94. – PeeJay 12:37, 10 July 2017 (UTC)

207.126.210.161
Hello again Widr. This IP address you just blocked appears to be from a Texas public library. I know that for schools we commonly put a related template at the talk page top and sometimes longer blocks are in order while allowing account creation, but I'm not sure if the same applies here (I assume that vandalism from schools is more rampant). The library would apparently use the CIDR range 207.126.208.0/20. Thanks, —PaleoNeonate - 19:19, 11 July 2017 (UTC)
- Since the IP has only been editing today, 31 hours should be sufficient for now. You can place the template on the talk page if you wish. Widr (talk) 19:22, 11 July 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks. I hoped that you would tell me which template to use then, but I just searched and I think I found a general shared-template that will suit. —PaleoNeonate - 19:32, 11 July 2017 (UTC)

Hi, I'm a bit puzzled as to why you blocked 180.151.195.234 (talk · contribs). The last time they were blocked was in January (for one month), and have only made 1 edit/been warned once since. I'm new to adminship, so am I missing anything? Cheers, Anarchyte (work | talk) 04:47, 12 July 2017 (UTC)
- History of vandalism and first edit since the block was vandalism. I don't think it benefits the encyclopedia to wait for more before blocking again. Widr (talk) 04:53, 12 July 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for the block. Something happened and it didn't 'click', or maybe I didn't click it. Cheers. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 08:10, 12 July 2017 (UTC)
- Or you just clicked too lightly. Widr (talk) 08:15, 12 July 2017 (UTC)

Seems to be causing a lot of problems globally. Not sure what to do in this case. Can an IP be globally blocked? My name isnotdave (talk/contribs) 18:15, 12 July 2017 (UTC)
- Stewards can if you are able to find one. Widr (talk) 18:17, 12 July 2017 (UTC)
Thank you
Thanks for this. Best wishes 82.34.71.202 (talk) 20:17, 12 July 2017 (UTC)
Account you just blocked
Be aware that Thatinternettroll also created Person guy. See creation log entry. --Hammersoft (talk) 15:13, 13 July 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks, blocked as well. Widr (talk) 15:17, 13 July 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks! Wouldn't it be nice if the blocking tool were to tell you what accounts have been created by the account you are blocking? --Hammersoft (talk) 15:22, 13 July 2017 (UTC)
- Indeed, would be very useful. Widr (talk) 15:23, 13 July 2017 (UTC)
New Page Reviewer Newsletter
Backlog update:
- The new page backlog is currently at 18,511 pages. We have worked hard to decrease from over 22,000, but more hard work is needed! Please consider reviewing even just a few pages a a day.
- Some editors are committing to work specifically on patrolling new pages on 15 July. If you have not reviewed new pages in a while, this might be a good time to be involved. Please remember that quality of patrolling is more important than quantity, that the speedy deletion criteria should be followed strictly, and that ovetagging for minor issues should be avoided.
Technology update:
- Several requests have been put into Phabractor to increase usability of the New Pages Feed and the Page Curation toolbar. For more details or to suggest improvements go to Wikipedia:Page Curation/Suggested improvements
- The tutorial has been updated to include links to the following useful userscripts. If you were not aware of them, they could be useful in your efforts reviewing new pages:
- User:Lourdes/PageCuration.js adds a link to the new pages feed and page curation toolbar to your top toolbar on Wikipedia
- User:The Earwig/copyvios.js adds a link in your side toolbox that will run the current page through
General project update:
- Following discussion at Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Reviewers, Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Noticeboard has been marked as historical. Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Reviewers is currently the most active central discussion forum for the New Page Patrol project. To keep up to date on the most recent discussions you can add it to your watchlist or visit it periodically.

Image deletion
Hi, this image from an article you just deleted needs to be removed. TesLiszt (talk) 06:03, 20 July 2017 (UTC)
- It's a Commons image. You have to flag it there. Widr (talk) 06:04, 20 July 2017 (UTC)
Might the abusive edit summaries be revdel'd for WP:NPA? --‖ Ebyabe talk - State of the Union ‖ 07:53, 21 July 2017 (UTC)

Impersonation?
Widr 2 – This can't be you, can it? —72 talk 11:03, 21 July 2017 (UTC)
- Judging from the image backlinks it relates to a block made 05:42, 14 July 2017 plus a few other accounts and IPs. I don't know a great deal more than that. So I've blocked it anyway. -- zzuuzz (talk) 11:29, 21 July 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks Zzuuzz, did not notice the uploader of that image. The content on the user/user talk page was dubious to say the least anyway... —72 talk 11:34, 21 July 2017 (UTC)
Thanks (again)

Any chance of semi'ing it for a couple months, it's not a very busy article any way, more of a vandal magnet than something to update. - FlightTime (open channel) 16:08, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
- Started with just three days, since it's never been protected before, but I'll make it longer if vandalism resumes. Widr (talk) 16:15, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
- TY :) - FlightTime (open channel) 16:17, 24 July 2017 (UTC)

IP 120.150.84.85
You just blocked this, and I have a question. When I look in the edit filter log, I see numerous accounts being used from that IP on today's date. I have been blocking the others as socks. My first time encountering this situation. Am I correct that these are socks appearing on the edit filter log? — Maile (talk) 12:49, 25 July 2017 (UTC)
- Never mind. Got the answer at SPI, and have unblocked where I did so erroneously. — Maile (talk) 13:49, 25 July 2017 (UTC)
Persistent addition of unsourced content etc
Hello Widr, could you please take a look at User:Marek Cieslik, contributions? He continues too add unsourced content after a final warning etc: [1]. Thank you JimRenge (talk) 15:18, 27 July 2017 (UTC)
Thanks
Thank you for this. Doesn't it ever get you down? I have worrying moments of wondering what we are all doing here ... :( Best wishes DBaK (talk) 20:49, 28 July 2017 (UTC)
- No problem. It's just run-of-the-mill vandalism, nothing to wonder or worry about. Widr (talk) 21:01, 28 July 2017 (UTC)
Blocked user
Hi, thank you for blocking 2001:8003:5354:7000:CC94:A97D:CDD3:C9A5. There has been three different IP addresses lately that have been acting those pages. This user now seems to be clearing their user page so the warnings and block message aren’t there. Do you think they should be blocked from editing their user page as well? NZ Footballs Conscience(talk)
- Let it be, they are free to blank it if they wish. Widr (talk) 14:01, 29 July 2017 (UTC)
