Aleixo das Neves Dias

Bishop Aleixo das Neves Dias, S.F.X. is the serving Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Port Blair. He was born in Calangute, Goa, India on 5 Aug 1944. He was Ordained a Priest of Society of the Missionaries of Saint Francis Xavier on 21 Dec 1969. He was Appointed as the First Bishop of Port Blair on 22 Jun 1984 by Pope John Paul II and Ordained on 20 Jan 1985 by Archbishop Pius Kerketta, S.J. He served as a Rector of a major seminary in Goa before becoming a prelate.
