This state's highway naming convention is up for debate above. Feel free to participate. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 05:39, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Note: Arkansas' naming convention at WP:USSH (and preferred in the above poll) is Arkansas Highway #, NOT "Highway # (Arkansas)" as one user keeps trying to change it to. Please respect the official naming convention! --RBBrittain 04:09, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Edit: However, due to prior use of "Highway # (Arkansas)" and "Arkansas State Highway #" as conventions, those should be continue to be created as redirects to the proper "Arkansas Highway #" articles. --RBBrittain 04:26, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

State highway 301

Arkansas state highway 301 is mentioned in Kimberly, Arkansas. Can anybody add some information about it here please? Biscuittin (talk) 13:12, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This could be a problem

These signs are the proof. Section 1 of U.S. 62 ends after 24.65 miles (39.67 km) at I-540 in Fayetteville.

This information has just been gleaned upon me. Arkansas technically has extremely few concurrencies. It has thousands of "sections". Basically whenever two highways meet, the more important one stays continuous, and the lesser route breaks into two sections, one on either side of the route. They never concur unless it is an official exception. This means that basically all of Arkansas' highway pages are inaccurate. Also, this is the case with every route in Arkansas (including U.S. Routes AND Interstates except I-30 which is top dog). What can be done about this? Also, this information is from the book: AHTD Annual Average Daily Traffic Estimate by County, April 2010. Brandonrush Woo pig sooie 23:28, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Since there are no concurrencies, how should mileages be displayed? Should the "implicit" mileage be included even though it is technically not really part of the route? Brandonrush Woo pig sooie 16:13, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It could be handled like CA does postmarkers. Just put a hat note in the RJL that says "mile markers reset at concurrences if needed and just list the mileage as is. --Admrboltz (talk) 19:50, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Spur section

I took the liberty of making a state highway spur section. This is for short connector roads that run from a city/park/etc to a major route. This should eliminate the number of stubs, because these spurs are destined to be stubs forever. Brandonrush Woo pig sooie 20:59, 4 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Route Shields

The caption under the photo of the Highway 265 route shields is incorrect: the shield on the left is from an independent sign contractor, and often appears along or near expressways and Interstates. The shield on the right is a standard issue AHTD shield. US 71 (talk) 15:00, 18 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Historic Shields

Good job on the historic shields! US 71 (talk) 20:36, 26 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
