Trieste is an aircraft carrier being completed for the Italian Navy.[10] It is expected to replace Giuseppe Garibaldi around 2022.

Trieste will be able to be equipped with helicopters and attack aircraft.[11]

It will be one of the two largest vessels of the Italian navy along with Cavour.[12][13]
