Diego Vela Vázquez (born 27 November 1991) is a Spanish footballer who plays for Hungarian club Diósgyőri as a right winger.
Club career
Born in A Coruña, Vela started his career with the youth academy of the local Deportivo Coruña club. In 2009, he was promoted to the B team which competed in the Tercera División making 19 appearances in his first season which also saw the club being promoted to the Segunda División B. In July 2012, he signed a contract extension, keeping him at the club for another season.[1] Though he is primarily a right winger, he spent much of the 2012–2013 season as a right back.[2]
Vela headed towards Racing Ferrol in 2013 and signed a one year contract with the Segunda B club. He also became the first signing of the team for the season.[2] On 5th August 2014, he signed a contract extension with the club, pennibg a deal which would keep him in the Galician club till the June of 2016.[3]
After spending three seasons and playing more than 100 matches for Racing Ferrol, Vela went abroad for the first time in 2016 and signed for Hungarian club Diósgyőr.[4]
