Hi, I'm working with The Pulitzer Center, a non-profit journalism agency geared towards providing audience to underrepresented news stories. I'd like to link this page to a related articles on the Pulitzer site; http://www.pulitzercenter.org/showproject.cfm?id=29 concerning the US backed Ethiopian invasion of Somalia. Please let me know if I can post these links. Many thanks in advance. Blendus 20:33, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ethiopian involvement in Somalia should be merged here. --TheFEARgod (Ч) 20:30, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes indeed. Feel free to do so! —Nightstallion (?) 02:30, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge

I propose that this article be moved to Ethiopia–Somalia relations. It would be much more conducive to its development in the future and would still cover the current topics. It also has the added benefit of avoiding confusion with any specific Ethiopian–Somali conflicts. አቤል ዳዊት (Janweh) (talk) 10:08, 25 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The relations series usually deals with political relationships and also broadly outlines military conflicts. As the specifics of the various conflicts are already dealt with on their respective articles, a re-direct here to the Ethiopia–Somalia relations page should cover it. I did not realize that such an article already existed. However, Ethiopian–Somali conflict article is almost exactly the same as the Ethiopia–Somalia relations. I propose merging these two articles into Ethiopia–Somalia relations which is consistent with other similar articles' names.
Please read both articles and see if either one covers any mutually exclusive topic. List them here. The tensions you speak of are simply an aspect of the Ethiopia–Somalia relations. The past relations between these countries has been dominated by these conflicts and there is nothing, as far I can see gained in having a separate article at this time. አቤል ዳዊት (Janweh) (talk) 20:32, 25 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong oppose - merging the articles is out of question: we have many similar examples of such cases. It may also imply that the only relations between the countries is conflict and this is something Wikipedia should NOT imply (per WP:NPOV).Greyshark09 (talk) 10:14, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
