SevenHills Hospital is an Indian hospital chain, with currently two functioning hospitals in Mumbai and Visakhapatnam, (also known as Vizag). Both the branches have been accredited by national & international agencies like NABL, NABH, and AHA for quality.[1] The Mumbai branch also has accreditation by JCI (Joint Commission International, U.S.A)

Since its foundation in the year 1986, under the vision of its Chairman & Managing director, Dr. Jitendra Das Maganti, the hospital has extended its services in over 30 specialties. The Mumbai branch of the hospital was inaugurated on 4th July 2010 by then President Smt Pratibha Devisingh Patil.[2] [3]

The Mumbai branch of the hospital has increased its total capacity to 1500 beds, of which 306 are currently in use, 75 beds reserved for the underprivileged under the Rajiv Gandhi Jeevandayee Arogya Yojana [IN].[4] The hospital has undergone huge structural changes post receiving investments of around 1000 crore from equity investments from Airro fund of JP Morgan Chase and Co and loans from Axis Bank [5] The hospital is equipped with modern technology that helps in maintaining Electronic Health Record. [6] This project is done under a public-private partnership between Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation & the Hospital.[7] [8] The hospital receives patients from across the world, especially through the African continent. [9] [10]

Hospital is involved in sharing public awareness topics like Stroke awareness or management of head injuries in road traffic accidents through various platforms.[11][12] The cardiology department of the hospital has performed surgeries on rare cases like congenital heart diseases like Lutembacher's syndrome. [13] The department performs surgeries for people with low income under Rajiv Gandhi Arogyashree Program and Save a Heart program. The department of Non-Invasive cardiology has modern diagnostic practice like the use of nuclear medicine to assess the condition of cardiac muscles before performing surgeries.[14] The oncology department of the hospital performs surgeries on regular cancer patients including HIV +ve patients also.[15] The emergency and causality department of the hospital receives patients from casualties due to natural or human causes.[16][17][18] The hospital is a recognized organ donation and organ transplant center with facilities for liver and kidney transplant.[19][20][21]

  • Amitabh Bachchan underwent minor abdominal surgery and also the hospital gifted him Mobile Diabetes Van on his 70th birthday in the presence of Right Hon. Keith Vaz, Member of Parliament, UK and Peter Beckingham, Deputy British High Commissioner by the hospital CMD Dr. Jitendra Das Maganti.[22]
  • Hrithik Roshan financially adopted 10 children in need of cardiac surgeries at the launch of the Save A Heart program at the hospital.[24]
