Andrew Wojtanik
Andrew Wojanik (1989-) was the winner of the National Geographic Bee in 2004, and the National Geographic World Championship in 2005. To get to the National Geographic Bee finals, he survived two tiebreakers to advance to the final round against 13-year-old Matthew Wells of Montana, beating him to win a $25,000 scolarship. He credits his success to a 377-page long book he compiled, which is now an official study guide for the Bee. Andrew lives in Overland Park, Kansas. Andrew is known to his friends as Wojo. Andrew has not only won a geography bee, but has also starred in many of his school's theater productions. Some of his most recent performances include, Bye Bye Birdie, Mary Poppins, and Steel Magnolias. Wojo is a very sensitive and caring individual. He has spent many hours volunteering to educate young and old indivivuals about the importance of geography.
