Aloha!

Leave any comments, questions, and other thoughts here! Please keep in mind that I will typically respond to new entries on my this page, rather than reply to the appropriate user's talk page. Also know that though I will be cordial as possible, some tough love and commentary will surface from time to time. Please don't let that stop you from joining the discussion - and if you feel like I'm being too harsh, feel free to talk it out on this page.

Please note that I will not delete, strike out, or edit anything on this page, with two exceptions - 1) vandalism and 2) anything in this introductory section. I request that all contributors to this page abide by the same rules. I will take action against those who fail to abide by this rule, as well as anyone who vandalizes this page.

Mahalo!

SEA

[edit]

I really don't appreciate the comment you just wrote. If you are against it, take it to WP:AIRPORTS. B'ham35242 (talk) 06:25, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry you feel that way, and I sincerely apologize if you thought I was personally attacking you. As I stated in my response, however, I stand by everything I say, like it or not. I just want an honest, substantive, transparent conversation about the issue, something that, judging by your responses and the fact that you struck out your initial comments (which was bureaucratic-like of you, I might add), you haven't quite grasped the simplicity of my request. Why should we take it to WP:AIRPORTS... the content page already stated that the rules are guidelines, and that they don't necessarily have to be followed. Just discuss it on the SeaTac page, and if we can't come to some sort of consensus, we can take it up with WP:AIRPORTS then. I don't see why it is so hard to express your own thoughts about this issue rather than relying on WP:AIRPORTS for support... contact me only when you are ready and willing to have a grown-up, solid conversation about this issue. Good day. Wickedlyperfect18 (talk) 07:35, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
UPDATE: Well, now that a user has confirmed my fleeting hypothesis about your multiple usernames, I can now address my commentary toward your most recent "retired" alias... and I refuse to take back any of it. I don't see any problem with telling people that they need to grow up and show some maturity when coming to talk on the Wikipedia talk pages. Harsh it may be, but we all need to face the music at some point and sometimes that little kick is necessary to bring you back to your senses. I sincerely hope that this is the last alias that you create, that you engage editors in good conversation without reverting to striking things out and damning anyone, and we can edit together seriously and respectfully. Hopefully that day will come... I'm crossing my fingers and I'm now rooting for you (despite my criticism), but, until then, I honestly cannot take you seriously. Wickedlyperfect18 (talk) 20:14, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I do apologize if I have threatened ya'll (all of Wikipedia's editors) in any way. I was in a bad and ugly mood that day. I just don't like other people turning against me everytime i engage in a conservation. HOpefully, this is the last but if i see anyone else going against me in any conservation on talk pages....then i will reitre completely from Wikipedia. The only reason I took the "direct" flight issue tp WP:AIRPORTS because yes it is a guideline not a rule. But however it does not reflect only SEA but all of the WP: Airports too. But I hopefully we can calmly discuss this situation in the near future without us going against one another. Thanks! B'ham35242 (talk) 02:32, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies gladly accepted =) It's all right, we all have our awful days, and I completely understand. Just remember that no one here intends to personally attack you in any way, even if it doesn't read that way at first glance - and if that is someone's intent, address it on their talk page and see what happens... or you can always come right back here and tell me about it and I'll do my best to mediate and hopefully bring it to an end. You don't have to retire and find a new alias when someone goes against your opinions - just stick with it, hold your head up high, and just give and take a little and go with the flow of discussion. For instance, your last comment here about WP:AIRPORTS - that was what I was looking for... your personal take on the issue. It was short and sweet, but, nevertheless, it had a stronger and more personal effect on me than your previous arguments, a rather nice step in the right direction. Good on you =)
The occasional flare-up is bound to come up at some point in our discussions, but never let it stop you from joining the discussion. I see that you have "retired", but in the hopes that you do come back, know that I believe that we can get along fabulously and we can discuss this in an intelligent manner. If you're in the mood to retire or find yourself being unfairly attacked, feel free to click on over and talk it out here. I really appreciate you coming here and writing that... here's to better times! Cheers! Wickedlyperfect18 (talk) 03:51, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've had situations like this myself, in my case I usually take a break or put other things on priority above Wikipedia. As per my talk page I'm semi-active those days. But at least this time it was sorted in a civil manner without one or more parties running away and taking "pot shots" at people. --Sb617 (talk · contribs) 04:02, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. Just to let you know that i am still Charmedaddict/Cashier freak/etc. But i will just be making small edits with this IP (not logging in; besides this IS a free encyclopedia). But anyways I will be busy with work and school coming up in the next 2 weeks so i won't be making bigs edits around that time. I will remember that anytime that anyone is going against me in discussions, i will take a wikibreak. Cheers! 74.183.173.237 (talk) 04:25, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
@74.183.173.237 - I saw your recent edits (kudos to Wikipedia for the watchlist feature) and they are simply wonderful... this has made my night :) Once again, good on you! Glad we came to an understanding and I'm looking forward to collaborating with y'all in the future. Coincidentally, I'll be semi-retired in a little more than two weeks as well, as I'll be eagerly returning to the California and the Bay Area for work, school, and more fascinating experiences! Good luck with everything and I hope to see more great contributions from you in the future =)
@Sb617 - It's funny how things work out :) To be honest, I was prepared for an all-out, feisty battle of words, but it all worked out so beautifully in the end, and I'm really happy with the way it turned out. Thanks for checking in... appreciate your insight! Wickedlyperfect18 (talk) 06:33, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hey Wickedlyperfect18. Good luck to you with school, work, etc. And I'd really appreciate it if you could comment on my recent comments on the "direct flights" issue. However, I am going to wait awhile before I edit under an account again. Anyway, no problem. Cheers! 74.183.173.237 (talk) 07:09, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Oh and by the way, are you a college student too? 74.183.173.237 (talk) 07:11, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I would love to comment on the direct flight issue, but I'll do it first thing tomorrow morning... had kind of a late night last night and I'd like to get some much needed rest! And yes, I am a college student too! I'll be starting my sophomore year at Stanford in mid-September. I'm leaving early, because I have to attend retreat, training and business stuff for dorm staff... pretty excited for that hehe! =) Wickedlyperfect18 (talk) 07:26, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Cool! I'll be sure to at it first thing I get up. And I am curious....that's why i was asking you if you are a college student. I am starting my 3rd year at Jeff State in Alabama. I made one at SEA talk page and at WP:AIRPORTS talk page. Can't wait to see your comments! 74.183.173.237 (talk) 07:36, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you!

Thanks for your advice and input for me and the Virgin America article! I appreciate it :) 68.52.42.38 (talk) 06:08, 16 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No problem =) I'm a huge fan of the airline and I thought that I'd add my two cents on the issue. Also, I noted this as part of my editing comments, but I hope you don't mind that I shortened your section title on WP:AIRPORTS... people will be sure see it, as there are quite a few editors (including myself) trying to work out something in the section above yours. Thanks! Wickedlyperfect18 (talk) 06:14, 16 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That's totally ok. I appreciate the help :) 68.52.42.38 (talk) 06:20, 16 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Southwest SEA-BNA

[edit]

Hi Wickedlyperfect! I was wondering if Southwest is ending seasonal service between Seattle and Nashville on October 31. An IP conitnue to make the change but used an invalid source (using another Wikipedia article as sources). Thanks! 74.183.173.237 (talk) 18:13, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there... good to hear from you again! Let's just say that I'm not very pleased to see this IP come back from the Wikipedia dead to cause more trouble on the SeaTac page and I thought that giving a harsh warning on this IP's talk page in regards to the AirTran/Midwest issue from last month would have taught him/her a lesson about the importance of research and discussion, but evidently, this was a short-term solution. As for the issue at hand, the Southwest wiki page does say that this service is coming to an end, however, I don't see a valid source from Southwest cited that states that a) this route is being discontinued and b) that this route is indeed seasonal. I'm sure it exists out there somewhere and I have told the IP involved to find the relevant sources, but evidently, he/she refuses to do such work. I'll try to find the source and I'll have a lovely (not really) conversation with the IP involved in hopes of "sorting him out." Thanks! Wickedlyperfect18 (talk) 20:12, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
UPDATE: According to Southwest timetables, the Seattle - Nashville flight's last day is October 31st. However, I don't see an official press release from Southwest indicating these changes, though I just might not be looking in the right places. I'm not entirely certain about the flight's "seasonal" status either... the cited article stated that the flight was returning, but provided no indication that the flight was seasonal. Wickedlyperfect18 (talk) 20:39, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well, if you do not find the flight returning to SWA's timetables then we can indicate it as "seasonal; ends October 31". However, if you find the flight in timetable for the summer 2010 then we can indicate it as "seasonal". But for right now i'll just leave it alone for right now. I think this flight was summer seasonal (i believe). Thanks! 74.183.173.237 (talk) 22:11, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Assistance Regarding Recent Vandalism and Harassment

[edit]

{{adminhelp}}

Hi! My user and talk pages were vandalized by IP address 66.68.212.231 and his other account Soulplaya 63‎. Both IPs have been blocked by an administrator, but I have two questions regarding these accounts.

First, Soulplaya 63‎ was blocked indefinitely, but his IP 66.68.212.231 was blocked for a week. Is it possible to extend the indefinite block to his IP address as well? I'm new to this whole process, so I don't completely have a grasp of the necessary details.

Secondly, Soulplaya 63‎ deleted his block notice from his talk page (see evidence here). Is this allowed?

Thanks for all the help! I really appreciate it!

Wickedlyperfect18 (talk) 02:42, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there. Sorry you had that experience, but I can answer your questions for you:
  1. IP addresses are not blocked indefinitely because they often switch between users when someone reconnects or an ISP loses the rights to a certain block of IP addresses. Chances are, there's already someone else on that IP, and we want to reduce as much collateral damage as possible.
  2. Users are allowed to remove posts from their talk pages, except for declined unblock requests while they are blocked. If they remove their block notice, then at least we know he's noticed it and will hopefully be less abusive in the future.
Hope this helps! Hersfold (t/a/c) 02:51, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sure did! Thanks so much for all of your help and insight on the blocking process! Wickedlyperfect18 (talk) 02:57, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Seattle-Tacoma Airport

[edit]

Hey. The IP was at it again at the SEA page. Making the same edits that you undid on your last revision. He also removed Hong Kong from Northwest Airlines as that is still being discussed/resolved. Gave him one final warning to stop but however, he will continue to do so. Thanks! 15:43, 4 September 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.183.173.237 (talk)

Rollback?

[edit]

Hello. Recently I noticed your anti-vandal work on the America's Best Dance Crew (season 4) article. The easiest way to clean up vandalism and spam is via the rollback tool. If you are willing to abide by the rollbacker rules (see WP:ROLLBACK), I would be more than happy to grant you access to this function. If, after reading WP:ROLLBACK, you promise to follow the rollback rules to the best of your ability, just drop a quick message on my talk page saying as much and I will update your rights. Thanks again for your help in keeping Wikipedia clear of vandalism! — Kralizec! (talk) 05:18, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your request for rollback

[edit]

After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback can be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback may be removed at any time.

If you no longer want rollback, then contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some information on how to use rollback, you can view this page. I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, just leave me a message if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Happy editing! — Kralizec! (talk) 05:37, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Direct flight rule change

[edit]

Hey there again. I fee like if we are ever going to change the rule/guideline for direct flights through hubs and with UA/NW/DL thru NRT, then were going to need more momentum. I don't really know who to contact about this... Do you? HKG[somethingsomething].... seems to support it on the WP Airports talk page. Hopefully something can be done, thanks!--76.121.4.143 (talk) 18:52, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

NW SEA-HKG

[edit]

Hi there! One IP removed HKG saying "per consensus on several talk pages" however, the only discussion on this is at the SEA talk page and at WP:AIRPORTS but i don't see a consensus reached on neither of these discussions. I have restored HKG until a consensus has indeed been reached. But however, but what needs to be discussed at WP:AIRPORTS is to change the direct flight rule. However, if you think i'm wrong and HKG need to be removed from the SEA page...you can feel free to remove it. Thanks! 74.183.173.237 (talk) 01:12, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

SEA AirTran issue

[edit]

One user added AirTran Airways to the South Satelitte Terminal again but added "See Concourse A" but however, like you said the airline only uses 1 gate in Concourse A (Gate A14). Just wanted to know if they have any departures out the South Satelitte Terminal gates at all. Regards! Snoozlepet (talk) 05:28, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think the editor in question says that they arrive at DL's gates in South Satelitte is probably because of overcrowding in Concourse A and move the aircraft back to Concourse A when there is room. Snoozlepet (talk) 23:45, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure but i think we should just stick to the information on AirTran's website for right now. If you can track some of the flights next week and find that some flights depart from both Concourse A and the South Satelitte, then I would just go ahead and put AirTran in the South Satelitte as "see Concourse A" in the destinations column. SEA needs to update their website though. Snoozlepet (talk) 04:52, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

table format on SEA

[edit]

Hey. I noticed you undid an IP's edit from single table listing to back to seperate concourses/terminals. There is a discussion at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Airports#Inconsistency_for_table_format_in_airport_articles on this matter and your comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Snoozlepet (talk) 07:08, 24 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Portland International Airport

[edit]

You appear to be in an edit war over minor details in Portland International Airport. Please discuss and seek consensus on the talk page before editing again. —EncMstr (talk) 20:00, 20 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Seeking consensus on the talk page is an option and I may do just that, but with all due respect, I don't see the point. Take a look at ZHoover123's talk page... this editor has a history of adding questionable facts to airport pages. When question, he/she provides "proof", but this "proof" itself is questionable or has no relation to the actual topic at hand. In this case, the user asserted that Hawaiian's flights from Seattle and Portland to Kahului, Maui were seasonal and presented Hawaiian's route map as proof. However, there was no mention of any seasonal routes, let alone the word "seasonal", on this page. I did some further digging, pretending to book the questioned flights, looking at Hawaiian's flight schedule, and trying to find news regarding these flights. I found no evidence to suggest that ZHoover123's point was valid.
I noticed that you reverted the page back to ZHoover123's edit and, honestly, as a teaching assistant who emphasizes the importance of research and sources and as a student who doesn't play around when it comes to research, I'm a little offended. I know this was most likely not your intention, but please hear me out. Other editors on the Seattle and Portland pages are reversing ZHoover123's attempts to add his/her views... this tells me that others agree that ZHoover123 is wrong on this particular point. And besides, if the edit is in question, then shouldn't the original state of the part in question be left alone - aka when Hawaiian Airlines didn't have a "seasonal" tag applied to its entry?
As I'm sure you've noticed, I have used the rollback tool to revert the questionable edit. I will also be posting something on PDX's talk page within the hour. Thanks. Wickedlyperfect18 (talk) 03:10, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You are correct in your assumption. I apologize for reverting your edit.
Whether or nor it does any good to argue the inclusion or exclusion of the information, the talk page should be tried. If that doesn't work out, it could lead to a block for him. —EncMstr (talk) 07:10, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No worries! You have a valid point and I have added the topic to PDX's talk page. Thanks! Wickedlyperfect18 (talk) 06:24, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
