Reid is known for introducing MMA to the U.K.

He has trained in several martial arts for 28 years.

On 14 May 2011, Reid announced his retirement from MMA at an Cage Rage UK event in London.[3] However, he did not rule out a return to the sport in future. His retirement was short lived, as he accepted a challenge from Jason Barrett.[4] During the weigh-ins the day prior to the 2011 fight, both men weighed in at just under the 13 st 3 lb mark, being 13 st 2 lb and 13 st 1 lb respectively. For the camera shot of both men squared up to each other, Reid kissed Barrett on the lips, which infuriated him and he had to be held back by UCMMA officials. Reid was laughing at his reaction, and vowed he would apologise "after the fight". On 6 August, Reid defeated Jason Barrett, via triangle choke in the first round and claimed the Super Title in the process.   December 2012 Reid won a decision fight against Sam Boo - BAMMA at Birmigham Arena.   Reid wanted to retire yet again as his heart wasn't in the sport and he wasn't training like he use to but after five years of being challenge by Tony Giles Reid decided to accept the challenge and go back to kick boxing as Tony would not do MMA. Reid only agreed this if Tony would be filmed for a show that Alex was making which won the Raindance International Film Festival "Beyond The Cage". After a careful start on the first round having not done kick boxing for years Reid stepped on the pedal continually pushing the fight to obtain a clear descion victory win.

Bellator

Bellator

On 16 July 2016 Reid had one last fight at the 02 Arena Bellator 158.[5]

Personal life

“I've been through a lot of challenging and at times difficult experiences in life, and have had to learn how to overcome adversity to be able to embrace life fully”

Reid is currently engaged to personal trainer Nikki Manashe and they plan on getting married 2018 after they have a child.   Reid quotes “Throughout my MMA career I've fought some well known fighters, but to me although being very real when competing, this was just another acting role for me, becoming the super hero I created as a child to fight the bad guys and my inner demons”   “After leaving the army, I decided to professionally train as an actor and graduated in 2000”

“Despite having some success appearing in many tv dramas and soaps, I unfortunately had to take a hiatus from the acting world due to my highly prolific romantic relationships continually reported in the media in a negative way”.   “On 3 January 2010, I became one of twelve housemates in Channel 4's 7th and final series of Celebrity Big Brother”.

He was heavily booed going in and had the entire uk press and media against him to which he acknowledged, "this is why I'm here, to hopefully change these boos into cheers".   During his time in the house he managed to win over the public and on 29 January won the show with 65% of the vote, which is the highest rate ever recorded on the show.   “I've learnt a lot along my journey so far, but Im only really just got going. There's still a lot more adventures to come.”

Alex is a qualified personal trainer and MMA coach for children and adults along with running bootcamps across the U.K to help educate others on health and well-being lifestyle changes.
