Clue: the Musical was a musical based on the board game Cluedo (known as Clue in North America) that premiered Off-Broadway in 1997. The cast is composed of five men and three women. The female roles are Mrs Peacock, Miss Scarlet and the Detective. The male roles are Reverend Green, Colonel Mustard, Professor Plum, Mr Boddy, and Mrs White. The role of Mrs White is traditionally played by a crossdressing man. The musical is published by Samuel French Ltd.

In an edited version, Reverand Green became Mr. Green and is a money-obsessed conniver in business with Mr. Boddy.

Unlike the film (which limited itself to three possible solutions) the musical has 216 possible endings. At the start of each show, three audience members select one card and placed it in the envelope. These cards determine how Mr. Boddy deliveres some of his lines. Clue: the Musical, originally ran off-Broadway for 29 performances. An original cast recording of Clue was made, but never released to the public, possibly due to the show's short-lived run.

While not a big success at the box-office, Clue has lived on in community and high school theatre productions across the world.
