Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies (VIPS) is in Pitampura, New Delhi, India and grants the degrees of Bachelor in Journalism and Mass Communication (BJMC), Bachelor in Computer Application (BCA), Masters of Computer Application (MCA) and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) (LLB). It is affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU)[1] and recognized by the Bar Council of India.[2] Admission to VIPS is strictly through the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.

The official business school of VIPS is Delhi School of Business, which provides AICTE approved Post Graduate Diploma in Management Programme (PGDM)

History

The institute was established by S. C. Vats following a meeting he had with Swami Jitatmananda in 1997 which told him he should establish an institute of higher education in New Delhi in the name of Swami Vivekananda.[3]

The Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies (VIPS) has been accredited “A” grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore in the 11th meeting of Standing Committee held on 19 January 2016.[4]

Student Society

Student clubs and societies engage in activities concerned with literature, debating, dramatics, dance, music, photography, fashion, technical.[citation needed]
