Batchwood Hall

Batchwood Hall is a large country house in St Albans, Hertfordshire

History

The house was designed in the Queen Anne style and built by Edmund Beckett, 1st Baron Grimthorpe in 1874.[1] The house has a miniature version of of the Great Clock in the clock tower at the Palace of Westminster.[2] The was acquired by St Albans Council in 1935[1] and became an event venue in the 1970s.[3]
