Dmitriy Aksyonov's idea to develop society using cultural instruments was the basis of his conception of RDI Group's cultural centres. Projects based on the participatory planning approach are being implemented in each of the residential estate projects being built by RDI, developing cultural programmes and urban communities for the territories. Thanks to the work of RDI Creative a "third place" with high-quality content is being created for the residents, who are provided with opportunities in the field of culture irrespective of location or income. They can each share the cultural achievements and at the same time learn from the cultural experience of the other communities. For example, in April 2015 the New-Molokovo (Moscow region) residential estate cultural centre was opened, as were the Out-Of-Town Quarter and the Southern Vidnoe residential estate cultural centres in March 2016 and June 2016 respectively.
In April 2013 Dmitriy Aksyonov was awarded with the prestigious Personal Contribution annual award of The Art Newspaper Russia for developing the Viennacontemporary arts fair VIENNAFAIR.
