Cambio (often stylized as CAMBIO) is a disbanded Filipino rock supergroup active from 2003 until 2015. The band is composed of former Eraserheads members Raimund Marasigan, Buddy Zabala, Kris Gorra-Dancel with Ebe Dancel and Diego Mapa.
The band started out in 2003 when former Eraserheads members decided to rename their band. Three of its members asked Diego Mapa and Sugarfree lead vocalist, Ebe Dancel to make a 5-piece band. The band recorded and released its debut EP album called “Excerpt”. The band finally released its debut studio album called “Derby Light” the following year with the single “DV” (which represents “Divisoria”, a famous market in Manila). The band since only been actived some other times due to their regular projects and bands. In 2007, the band released their second effort album called, “Matic” under MCA Music Philippines.
History
When Ely Buendia left the Eraserheads sometime in 2002, remaining members Buddy Zabala, Marcus Adoro and Raimund Marasigan decided to continue as Eheads by adding singer-guitarist Kris Gorra (from the indie all-girl pop-punk band, Fatal Posporos and, later, Duster). After just a few months, Marcus Adoro left the group as well to pursue a passion for surfing and for his own musical undertaking, Markus Highway. Zabala, Marasigan and Gorra (later, Gorra-Dancel, having married Vin Dancel of Peryodiko) decided to continue on, adding Ebe Dancel (Kris Gorra-Dancel's brother-in-law) of Sugarfree and Diego Mapa (of Monsterbot and Pedicab); consequently forming Cambio.
Cambio became known for songs about Pinoy Pop Culture, such as "DV" (about Divisoria, a sub-district in Manila which popular for bargain goods) and "Call Center" (about Business Process Outsourcing employment in the Philippines.
Disbandment and other projects
The band last seen live about the last quartet of 2014 in a local bar in Manila. The group ever since been unactived due to the band members different projects and bands. Lead singer, Kris Dancel is focusing on her family life and also sings for the band, Peryodiko. Ebe Dancel is currently a solo successful recording artist. Bassist, Buddy Zabala is currently part of both several pop bands, Moonstar88 and Hilera. While, Raimund Marasigan still sings for Sandwich and drummer for his new project bands, Assembly Generals and Basement Lung. Both Raimund and Diego Mapa are part of the most dangerous and iconic rap rock and Dance-punk band, Pedicab.
