Myraida Desireé Carmona (born August 27, 1984), publicly known by her stage name Calma Carmona, is a Puerto Rican singer-songwriter whose music is primarily Soul & Latin Soul. Carmona's known influences[1][2] range from Sade Adu, Santana, PJ Harvey and La Lupe to Tina Turner, and she sings with equal fluency in both her native Spanish and English.[3] Carmona is known for her "feathery vocal, funky groove-infused sounds, and wide-ranging influences",[4] and has been likened to singers Jill Scott and Erykah Badu.[5]She released her debut EP, There's No Other Girl, in September 2013 on mun2.

In August 2013, Calma Carmona was voted MTV Iggy Artist of the week and in the same year, she opened for Beyoncé's acclaimed The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour in Puerto Rico.[6]

In 2015, Carmona and her two percussionists Gaby Oliver and Hector "Coco" Barez were hired by Gravity Thinking[7] to sing the Franz Ferdinand track Love Illumination, for the Glenfiddich 21 year old whiskey campaign, conducted and arranged for the Scottish Opera Orchestra by Derek Williams.[8]
