Joe Trohman
Template:Infobox musical artist 2 Joseph Mark Trohman (born on September 1, 1984 in Hollywood, Florida) is most notably the lead guitarist for the Chicago-based alternative rock band Fall Out Boy.
Early life
He grew up in South Russell, east of Cleveland, Ohio. He lived there for 8 years, playing trombone in the school band for most of his time there until he picked up guitar later in his elementary school years. He has been playing ever since. He moved to a suburb of Chicago around 12 years old. He attended Washburne Junior High, where he tried to do various bands for fun. After Washburne, he attended New Trier Township High School. During his highschool years he was part of an audio visual club that made home movies as well as he briefly played bass in Arma Angelus with Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz on vocals. After graduating high school in 2002, he attended DePaul University in Chicago before dropping out to play guitar in Fall Out Boy full time.
Career
When he started Fall Out Boy, he had asked Pete Wentz, who was currently singing in Arma Angelus, if he would like to start a punk band, with more emphasis on positivity, and less emphasis on the negatives that the hardcore scene seemed to draw. After agreeing to the idea, Joe had a by chance meeting Patrick Stump at a bookstore, of whom he asked to sing in their newly formed group. They later recruited friend and drummer Andy Hurley.
He, with the rest of his band, is currently in the process of recording a new record, slated for release in early 2007. He also is fully endorsed by Washburn Guitars and has a line of his own guitars coming out in the future.
