UiPath is a global software company that develops a platform for Robotic Process Automation (RPA). The company has been acknowledged as a leader by industry analysts, including Forrester Research in the inaugural Forrester Wave for RPA, [1], and in the Everest Research Group RPA FitMatrix. [2]. The company is also featured the Market Guide for Robotic Process Automation by Gartner [3] and Horses for Sources RPA Customer Experiences Big Picture View. [4]
On April 27, 2017, UiPath announced that it raised $30 million in a Series A round of funding led by Accel, with participation from existing investors including Earlybird Venture Capital, Credo Ventures and Seedcamp.[5] [6]
History
UiPath was founded in 2005 and is headquartered in New York City, NY. Originally an outsourcing company, the company saw an opportunity for RPA in 2012 and developed an industry-standard platform for training and orchestrating software robots. The company was renamed UiPath in 2015.[7]
In 2017, Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group announced that it was deploying UiPath as part of a broad RPA initiative with the aim of reducing 100 billion yen.[8] In 2017, Dentsu and UiPath announced the use of RPA software to improve Dentsu employee's work life balance and enhance productivity.[9]
