Notability

In order to have an article on Wikipedia a subject must meet certain inclusion criteria called notability. For footballers, there are two guidelines used to find out if they are notable or not. The general notability guideline says any subject that has received significant coverage in reliable sources is notable. It's pretty rare for this to be the case for a footballer unless they also meet the other guideline. The football-specific notability guideline says a footballer is notable if they have played for their country's senior national team or in one of the fully professional leagues listed here. Since Juric is yet to make his debut for Hajduk Split, he does not meet this guideline either. I hope that clears things up. Sir Sputnik (talk) 00:31, 18 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Non-league appearances can be sufficient for notability, under two conditions: if it's a competitive fixture and both teams involved play in a fully professional league. So Jenic this would mean playing a match in the Cup against another 1. HNL club, or in one of the UEFA competitions against a club from one of the other leagues listed here. Unless Jenic's soccerway profile is out of date, that does not appear to have happened.

The article JET Crew has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline and the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (media) requirement. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page here in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back through WP:ECHO or by leaving a note at User talk:Piotrus. Thank you.

Western Sydney Wanderers FC

Hi Degenhardt1999,

I noticed you added a Division column to the "Season by season record" section of the Wanderers page. I'm not convinced that this is necessary (given the absence of promotion/relegation in the A-League), but perhaps you have a convincing argument that I've not considered?Yoka Genkaku (talk) 21:56, 13 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Elle Dawe, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Model (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Scorers from Aussie clubs in the ACL

Hey mate, I saw you made a change to the top scorers list on the Aussie clubs in the ACL. Do you have a source for it? I wanted to update it too, but didn't know where to get the info from. --SuperJew (talk) 13:06, 30 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I Didn't think I needed a source given how publicly presented, open, and free it is to view the 2017 AFC Champions League. It is very simple to check AFC CL statistics. Jamie Maclaren scored three time during the 2017 AFC Champions League group stage, AFC Match Report: Brisbane Roar 2–1 Kashima Antlers, AFC Match Report: Brisbane Roar 2–3 Ulsan Hyundai
It's better to have a centralized list sourced. So you added Jamie, but what about other players who scored? Perhaps someone who has 2 or 3 goals over the span of previous campaigns scored another in 2017? --SuperJew (talk) 15:09, 30 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
