The 89mm STRIM F1 reusable rocket launcher was developed by Luchaire Defense SA, manufactured in cooperation with Manufacture Nationale d'Armes de Saint-Etienne and marketed by Hotchkiss-Brandt. It is a glass fibre construction, with separate rocket container (626 mm length, 3.2 kg weight). When the rocket container is coupled with the launcher, the firing circuit is also connected.
The rocket itself has a shaped charge 80 mm warhead, weighin 2.2 kgs. The STRIM can be fitted with different types of rockets apart from the basic anti-tank model, such as practice rockets, illuminating rockets, incendiary rockets and the AVL light anti-tank rocket. According to the manufacturer, the rockets can penetrate up to 400mm of armour or concrete. In order to stabilize the rocket in-flight, it uses nine stabilisers which unfold when leaving the launcher. Approximate flight times are 1.25 sec for 330m.
