Rashad Nabi oglu Nabiyev (Template:Lang-az) - the Chairman and CEO of Azercosmos since January 24, 2011, by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan[1]

Career

From 1997 to 2000, Mr. Nabiyev worked at the Information Resources and Technologies Center and International Relations Department at the President’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan. After, from 2002 to 2004, he worked at the Market Operations Department of the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Before his appointment as Chairman of Azercosmos, Mr. Rashad Nabiyev worked as the Head of Finance, Accounting and Economic Analysis Department at the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies (Azerbaijan) from 2004 to 2011. Education

In 1994, Mr. Rashad Nabiyev studied at Academy of Public Administration (Azerbaijan) under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan where he got his bachelor and master degrees. Also, he holds a MS in Economics from East Carolina University, USA, where he studied during 2000-2002. He continued his education at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University where he completed the program for Senior Executives in Public Financial Management in year 2006. [3]

Azercosmos OJSCo

Rashad Nabiyev is the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Azercosmos OJSCo.[4]

Azercosmos is the premier satellite operator in both Azerbaijan and Caucasus. It was incorporated in 2010 by decree of the President Ilham Aliyev.[5] With the first telecommunication satellite Azerspace-1, the company provides highly reliable, satellite-based communication services to enterprise and government customers for DTH, voice, video, data and mobility applications.[6] With the Earth Observation Satellite Azersky, Azercosmos provides satellite imagery and geoinformation services since 2014. Also, Azercosmos, plans to launch the second telecommunication satellite Azerspace-2 into orbit in April, 2018.[7] [8]
