Question

[edit]

Why is this seperate from the Judaism section?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Yoshiah ap (talkcontribs) [1]

  • It is not "seperate". This is the original "mother" category for both Jews and Judaism. (Also please follow normal Wiki procedure by signing your name after making a comment etc.) IZAK 21:15, 18 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Category: Shtetls in Eastern Europe

[edit]

Perhaps there should be a Category: Shtetls in Eastern Europe--Redaktor 12:21, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Does WP support that Jewry is a nationality rather than a faith?

[edit]

WP should replace "descent" with "faith" otherwise it appears that WP endorses the idea that it is not a faith but a genetic development. Hitler's approach to this isue was that it was genetic regradless of how many generations it had been wne the person's ancestors had been active practitioners. We do not quate the same connotation for any other religious practice. By this action WP is endorsing that the practice of Jewry is only legitimate by those who are Jewish. That is not the reason for faith.66.74.176.59 (talk) 02:20, 19 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If you wish to change Wikipedia's long-established practices in this regard, a change which will not simply affect the Category namespace, you can propose it at venues such as WP:VPR or WP:VPP. NebY (talk) 16:53, 21 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
