Bromance
Bromance (Bro-mance) is referred to the "brotherly" and "romantic" relationship between two (or more) male friends. The relationship could be strictly platonic or involve some sexual elements. The world can explain the hard-to-explain relationship between two straight male friends that feel a close bond and emotional attachment to each other; perhaps a male version of "girlfriends" for (straight) girls.
Some argue that the relationship between actor Matthew McConaughey and Tour De France winner Lance Armstrong has contributed to popularity of this term after the couple, along with actor Jake Gyllenhaal, were frequently photographed together this summer - often shirtless - biking, running and partying. The following comments by the couple can help clarify the word bromance:
McConaughey: "A lot of people don't understand friendship and brotherhood. I have a great friend in him. It's fun going out and living life and doing things at the drop of a hat."
Armstrong: "We all have those kinds of relationships - and relationship isn't a bad word. I mean, we all have buds, we all take guy trips."
