Grace Hotels, part of the Libra Group, is a privately owned collection of hotels and resorts located across, Europe, North America, South America and Africa.[1]
History
Established in 2007 with the opening of Grace Mykonos, closely followed by Grace Santorini, the hotel group operates, or has under development, 11 hotels around the world, with five properties in Europe, three in North America, two in South America and one in Africa, as of November 2017.
Current properties
As of 2017, Grace Hotels operates properties in Greece, North America and South America.
Grace Santorini is a hotel located above Santorini Caldera overlooking Greece’s Aegean Sea. The property features 21 rooms and suites and a restaurant, called Santoro.[2]
Grace Mykonos is a 32-bedroom hotel located just north of Mykonos town.[3] The property is situated above the protected beach of Agios Stefanos, Mykonos.[4]
Grace Vanderbilt is a mansion originally built and owned by the Vanderbilt family, located near Thames Street in Newport, Rhode Island.[5] The hotel features 33 rooms and suites, indoor and outdoor pools, a spa, a restaurant and a rooftop terrace which overlooks Newport harbour.[6]
Grace Mayflower Inn & Spa is a 30-room hotel and spa in Washington, Connecticut.[7] It is a member of the Relais & Châteaux association.[8]
Grace White Barn Inn & Spa is a historic hotel, restaurant and spa in Kennebunk, Maine. The White Barn Restaurant has been awarded both AAA Five Diamonds and Forbes Five Star Fine Dining accolades.[9]
Grace Cafayate located on La Estancia de Cafayate, a 1,360 acre residential and sporting estate in the Salta province of northwest Argentina.[10] The hotel looks over the vineyards in the Calchaquí Valley.[11]
Awards
Grace Hotels has received a number awards for both design and service since the group’s inception in 2007.
- The group’s first hotel, Grace Mykonos, received the highest award at the 2007 European Hotel Design Awards.
- Grace Santorini has featured in the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards, amongst the top hotels in Greece and Turkey, whilst its restaurant, Santoro, received its first Golden Toque in 2017.
- Grace White Barn Inn & Spa’s restaurant is five-diamond rated by the AAA/CAA, an accolade it has held since 1992.[12]
- Grace Mayflower Inn & Spa and Grace Vanderbilt are featured among the ‘Top Hotels in New England’ in Condé Nast Traveler magazine’s 2017 Readers’ Choice Awards. Grace Mayflower was ranked #11 overall with a score of 95/100 and Grace Vanderbilt was ranked #30 with a score of 90.48.[13]
- 363 Champagne Lounge at Grace Santorini was awarded ‘Best Hotel Bar’ at the 2017 European Hospitality Awards, beating a shortlist of 7 other bars from Europe and around the world.[14]
Corporate Social Responsibility
The Grace Foundation was created in 2013 to unify the many charitable initiatives under the Grace brand, principally the ‘Give with Grace’ initiative, the group’s collaboration with the Starlight Foundation and the donation of gifts and auction lots for selected charities.[15] Under the ‘Give with Grace’ programme, for every night a room in a Grace hotel is occupied, the Grace Foundation pledges $1 (or its equivalent in the appropriate local currency) to SOS Children’s Villages, a global organisation which provides services and much needed support to children who have lost or who are at risk of losing parental care. Guests are invited to match the Grace Foundation’s donation by also contributing $1 for each night that they stay at a Grace hotel.[16][17] The Grace Foundation has given over £2m since its inception, investing much needed funds in local communities.
