P V Radhakrishna Pillai, a prominent Non-resident Indian or NRI[clarification needed]born at Mavelikara, in Alappuzha district Kerala living in Bahrain being awarded the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman by President Pratibha Patil in January 2012 for his estreem contribution among non residence Indian[why?]. This was so well received by the Indian community [where?] that a grand reception, held in his honour on February 10, was attended by over 2000 Indians. He held the positions of President, Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam, Chairman The Indian School Bahrain 2002-2008, President Surya Bahrain. He is currently working as a senior engineer in the ministry of electricity and water of the Kingdom of Bahrain but had earlier served in the Kerala State Electricity Board before moving here. He is current (2017-2018) president of Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam which one of the biggest expatriate community in Kingdom of Bahrain.
