Improve GK

You believe that Mr,Rajiv Gauba is present Home secretary,And believe that Mr.Rajiv Mehrishi is not present CAG of India, Than definitely problem with your mind, Because as per my knowledge there is only one can set on the post of home secretary,two person can not serve for one post.     • @Kartik Patel:. Thank you for your concerns. But I am afraid your concerns are greatly unfounded.
      • I have never said, or even implied that the Office of Home Secretary of India is being occupied two different individuals.
      • Rajiv Gauba indeed is the incumbent Union Home Secretary.
      • And like wise, Rajiv Mehrishi, currently, isn't the CAG of India.
      • There's no correlation between the two. Rajiv Mehrishi, at this point of time holds no office. He superannuated from IAS on 30 August 2017. Though he's likely to become the CAG of India, when the incumbent, Shashi Kant Sharma demits office on 24 September 2017 i.e. when he attains the age of 65. But as of today, Rajiv Mehrishi is not holding any office, constitutional or otherwise.
      • CAG is a constitutional office, one can't be removed from the office, unless, of course, one is impeached by the Parliament of India.

I hope this clears your doubts, and, by the by, I believe that my General Knowledge about these particular subjects is sufficient.

Hi just occupying a constitutional office does not make him automatically notable. Notability is not inherent or inherited. Even elected politicians have to meet WP:GNG. I may be mistaken of course so if you have a guideline or policy that supports automatic notability for those occupying constitutional offices I would be very interested. i'll have a look at those other sources and see if the notability tag can come off now.   • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.

Re: Sanjay Mitra

I have updated the Defence Secretary to describe him as a civil servant rather than politician, after reconsidering the content. Defence Secretary is often a political position in many nations, so the IAS aspect was missed. When multiple articles with the same name are involved, the article names should be "disambiguated" unless there is clearly a primary topic, and there could be potentially other articles about persons named Sanjay Mitra. WP:PRIMARYTOPIC has further background about this. Dl2000 (talk) 05:32, 10 January 2018 (UTC)

@Al ashton: Hi. Financial Times is a reliable source, but as per WP: RS, only passing mentions don't contribute to notability. As far as National Register of Commerce is WP: Primary Source and has to be backed up by a reliable secondary source. For further info read; WP: Citing sources. I know you may find all this a bit complicated, and maybe even absurd, I too experienced all this when I started (as you may be able to guess by looking through this talk page), but trust me, you'd get used to it. If you have any other issues, I would be more than happy to help.

Secondly, as far as your draft goes, barring the lack of reliable sources, it's impressively well built for a first timer, so I'd like you to read up on WP: Reliable Sources, that should give you a fair idea. Supporting Indian Wikipedia Program resource distribution

In 2017 - 2018, the Wikimedia Foundation and Google working in close coordination with the Centre for Internet and Society (CIS), Wikimedia India chapter (WMIN) and user groups will pilot a program encouraging Wikipedia communities to create locally relevant and high-quality content in Indian languages. This program (Code name: Project Tiger) will:

(a) Support active and experienced Wikipedia editors through the donation of laptops and stipends for internet access and
(b) Sponsor a language-based contest that aims to address existing Wikipedia content gaps.

The objective of the program is to provide laptops and internet stipends for existing editors who need support to contribute more actively. 50 basic model Acer Chromebooks and Internet stipends for 100 contributors are available for distribution. Provided resources are the sole property of the beneficiaries and should be used for the betterment of the movement.

If you're an active Wikimedian, and interested to receive support from this project, please apply. It will take around 10 minutes of your time, and will ask descriptive questions about your contribution to Indic Wikimedia projects.

Hello, @ArtofSuiting: notability isn’t inherent on Wikipedia, for any article you create, adequate sources have to be provided to back up your claims. These sources have to be reliable and secondary, and passing mentions in a reliable sources won’t do. I encourage you to read up on WP:RS. I know this may seem a bit complicated right now, but once you get the hang of it, it actually can be fun. All the best!
