Summary
Bitterblue is the young Queen of Monsea, working her best to help her kingdom recover from the effects of her evil father’s, King Leck, Grace. She is frustrated by her lack of understanding of what happened when she was a child and she struggles with knowing the right things to do to help her people. Her advisors encourage her to practice “forward-thinkingness” to help people move on. The secretiveness of her advisors forces Bitterblue to find answers by herself. While in disguise in the city she meets and befriends Teddy and Saf. She also meets her castle’s librarian, Death. With their help, she unravels the mysteries of her castle and kingdom. And starts to bring about true healing for her people.
