Yaşar Kemal
Yasar Kemal Gökceli was born in 1923 in Hemite, a hamlet in the province of Adana in southern Turkey.
His first book of short stories Yellow Heat was published in 1952. Ince Memed (Memed My Hawk) was published in 1955.
