Hello. Please don’t add “This is a Chinese name. The family name is <surname>.” to pages titled “<English name> <surname>.” Since readers can tell the surname is a surname, the text doesn’t provide any additional info.

Let’s take a look at Iris Chang. The surname is Chinese, and the first name is American. Her name is Chinese-American, not Chinese. Give Chinese-Americans proper treatment, write abou who they are, not what their names are or how to pronounce them. Don’t treat us with exoticism.

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page DIII-D (fusion reactor) has been reverted.
Your edit here to DIII-D (fusion reactor) was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://generalatomics.files.wordpress.com/2013/04/diiiman-e1366822463911.jpg) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. an image file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Article Talks

This is where I keep the article talks so that I remember to visit them for responses. Talk:Catherine Belkhodja, Talk:Hosea Stout,

If you wish to add a Talk Topic, please insert title begin and end with === and sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~);

Some of the material you included in the above article was copied from here, a copyright web page. Copying text directly from a source is a copyright violation. Unfortunately, for copyright reasons, the content had to be removed. Please let me know if you have any questions or if you think I made a mistake. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 14:49, 22 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A meeting was held on a certain date and I have made reference to the source. Why is this a copyright issue? SWP13 (talk)

SWP13 in French Wikipedia

Someone left a French discussion however, my French is probably equivalent to a 3 year old at the moment. Sometime in the future, I should take a look at it. [[1]] SWP13 (talk) 03:42, 23 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

famousbirthdays.com is not a reliable source

Hi SWP13 . I'm in the process of removing famousbirthdays.com as a source from Wikipedia, because it's not reliable (See Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard/Archive_153#Is_famousbirthdays.com_a_reliable_source_for_personal_information). I noticed that you've added it, and wanted to make sure you understood why it's being removed. If you disagree, let's discuss it. Thanks. --Ronz (talk) 23:18, 11 January 2017 (UTC) [2][3][reply]

It's fine. Is there a list of unreliable source for birthdays besides imdb.com and famousbirthdays.com? SWP13 (talk) 02:32, 17 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I wish there were such a list. WP:ELPEREN gives some information about commonly used links, and includes imdb. A search of WP:RSN will at least allow you to check for common consensus about individual links. --Ronz (talk) 16:44, 17 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Reporting Vandalism

Hi, I noticed from a message that you left on someone's user page that you were unaware of how to report persistent vandals to administrators. WP:AIV is the place for vandalism reporting. Might I suggest using WP:TWINKLE? To enable it, you need to go to Preferences -> Gadgets -> tick Twinkle: automate common tasks such as reporting vandalism.. Let me know if you have any questions! (or need any help). Best, Nicnote • ask me a question • contributions 20:15, 1 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You do not own articles, so stop telling other editors not to edit them

Information icon Hello. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to Wikipedia. This means that editors do not own articles, including ones they create, and should respect the work of their fellow contributors on John Bohn. If you create or edit an article, remember that others are free to change its content. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. 32.218.40.184 (talk) 00:05, 10 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not assume ownership of articles as you did at Francis F. Chen. If you aren't willing to allow your contributions to be edited extensively or be redistributed by others, please do not submit them. Thank you. 32.218.40.184 (talk) 00:05, 10 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox request for Hiya (caller profile company)

Hi, I see you have created a number of infoboxes. I wonder if you might be willing to create a basic one for the company I work for, Hiya. I think Template:Infobox company is the best template; if you'd like suggestions on what items to put in I'd be happy to make some. One thing I'd especially like to see is our logo. There is a version here, or I could send you a higher resolution version. Would you mind making the infobox? Also, if you have any feedback on the article, that would be great. I'm going to put in some incoming links to hopefully get the "orphan" tag removed, and add a category or two. -Lizhpowell (talk) 20:05, 7 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, I can create an infobox. If you post an image of the company or logo to wiki common, let me know. Be aware of image copyright legals. SWP13 (talk) 02:27, 8 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Daniel Silva

Whoa! Thanks for all that amazing cleanup. I've been trying to keep some of those in alignment but don't really know my way around infoboxes so thanks for the cleanup. Any thoughts on standardization of article names w/r/t to Silva novel or not? StarM 04:19, 9 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Response: Simple. I displayed all the novels in order and fix them as needed. Plots are a bit challenging. The novels still require some cleanup. SWP13 (talk) 08:31, 9 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Well done. There's a note from an editor on my talk re: the covers but I'm not familiar enough to take that on. StarM 01:57, 12 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
