The rufous horseshoe bat (Rhinolophus rouxii) is a species of bat in the family Rhinolophidae. It is found in China, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam.
Description
Head and body length 7–9 cm. Forearms 5 cm. Wingspan is 28–31 cm. Weight 11–14 g.
Color is highly variable. The pelage is soft and silky. Generally it is reddish brown with the underside lighter. The nose-leaf, is prominent, complex. Large ears lack a tragus.
Culture
Known as බොරත් අස් ලාඩම් වවුලා (bo-rath as-laadam wawula) in Sinhala.
