Lokendra Singh Kalvi is an Indian politician and son of Kalyan Singh Kalvi. He is known as the founder of Shri Rajput Karni Sena. He hails from Nagaur district, Rajasthan, India.[1]

Political Life

Loekndra Singh Kalvi along with then BJP Member Devi Singh Bhati build Social Justice Front or Samajik Nyaya Manch. The motto of this front was to fight for Reservation for Rajput and other General Castes. This front also contests in 2003 Vidhansabha Election. However, only Devi Singh Bhati won and later joined Bhartiya Janata Party. On the other hand, Logkendra Singh Kalvi builds Shri Rajput Karni Sena.

In 2006, Kalvi build Karni Sena with the sole motto of Reservation of Reservation. But later 11 other motto were added to the list. The other motto includes protest against tweaks in history, Rajput Reservation, Unity of Rajput, Building Rajput women Educated and independent, etc. In 2008 Vidhansabha Election, Kalvi came in limelight during their protest against the release of Jodhaa Akbar. Controversies

  • He attracted a controversy by opposing the reservation system in India on caste basis.
  • 2008: He led Shri Rajput Karni Sena against the release of Ashutosh Gowariker's film Jodhaa Akbar in Rajasthan.[3]
  • Rajput Karni Sena attacked Ekta Kapoor at Jaipur Literature Festival opposing her serial Jodha Akbar.[4]
  • 2018, his Karni Sena again attracted a controversy opposing the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film Padmaavati (renamed Padmaavat).[5]
