Panipat is an upcoming 2019 Indian Hindi-language historical period drama film which will be directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar. It features Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon.[1] The film will be based on the Third Battle of Panipat that took place in 1761 between 100,000 Afghan warriors against 70,000 Maratha warriors and concluded in a decisive Afghan victory. This resulted in the halt of Marathan advances to the north of India.[2][3] The film is scheduled to release on 6 December 2019.[4][5][6][7][8]
