Andy and Bill's law is a statement of the relationship between the hardware and software upgrades.
The law states that "what Andy gives, Bill takes away." Andy Grove is the former CEO of Intel, which provides processor hardware. Bill Gates is the former CEO of Microsoft, which provides PC software.[1][2] The meaning of this law is that the better performance the hardware serves will soon be consumed by software.
