For the Catholic writer see Daniel A. Lord

Daniel Lord (September 23, 1795 - 1868) was a prominent New York City attorney. His firm was eventually joined by his son-in-law Henry Day and son Daniel Lord Jr. to form Lord, Day and Lord. John Jacob Astor was among Lord's clients.[1] Lord set up the Daniel Lord Jr. Memorial Fund at Yale in honor of his son.[2]

Lord was born in Stonington, Connecticut September 23, 1795. His father was a doctor and moved the family to New York City while Lord was a toddler.[3] He graduated from Yale in 1814. His death in 1868 was attributed to "paralysis".[3]
