Justice League Heroes is a set of five games scheduled for simultaneous release, each featuring characters from the DC Comics universe.
The Flagship game is an action role-playing game, currently under development by Snowblind Studios for the Xbox, PlayStation 2 and PSP. The game play differences between these three platforms is expected to be minor.
The other two games are being developed by WayForward Technologies for the GBA, and by Sensory Sweep Studios for the Nintendo DS. The Nintendo DS edition of the game is a prequel to the console title. The GBA edition of the game is a side-story titled Justice League Heroes: The Flash and focuses primarily on that character, with the other Justice League members as support. [1]
Summary
The game is based on the Justice League of America, a group made up of DC's top superheroes, including Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter and Zatanna. There was another Justice League game in development from Midway Games that was cancelled in 2004 - it is "totally unrelated to the current project," according to Warner Bros. [2] The game was released on October 17, 2006.
The missions will allow two characters to be played at a time; about half the time the game dictates which characters are played and the other half the player chooses the characters.
As the release date approached, rumors surfaced saying that there wouldn't be four but six unlockable characters (including Green Arrow, Aquaman, Hawkgirl and the Huntress). Snowblind Studios and Warner Bros. didn't formally address these rumors. However, a render was released on the Snowblind Studios website featuring the starting seven Leaguers, the four previously mentioned 'unlockable' characters, as well as Black Canary, Supergirl, Kyle Rayner, Hal Jordan and Jay Garrick. It was confirmed that Jay Garrick is an alternate skin of The Flash.

- When the roster of playable characters was first announced, many noted the similarity to the DC animated universe. Six of the seven starting characters from Justice League Heroes were the founding members in the Justice League, with John Stewart & Wally West as Green Lantern & Flash respectively. The only difference between the animated series and Justice League Heroes is that Zatanna is the seventh starting character in Justice League Heroes, rather than Hawkgirl who was the seventh founding member in the animated series.
