Location of Caribou Mountains in Alberta

Caribou Mountains are a mountain range surrounding an elavated plateau in northern Alberta, Canada.

The Caribou Mountains reach an elevation of 1,030 m, almost 700 m higher than the surrounding area, and have a unique environment, including fragile wetlands and an elevated plateau that is the core habitat of a threatened woodland caribou herd.[1]

The Caribou Mountains Wildland Park is protecting the particular environment of the region.
