Projects
Sarajavo Survival Guide, 1993
The guide book to Sarajevo was written in Sarajevo between April 1992 and April 1993 during the Sarajevo Siege. It was written by Miroslav Prstojevic with photography by Zeljko Puljic. Aleksandra Wagner translated the book into English with Ellen Elias Bursac.
It appears to be inspired by the Guide Bleu format of a Michelin guide book, it is offering adivce to potential visitors to the besieged city, on how to survive without transportation, hotels, taxis, telephones, food, shops, heating, water, information, electricity. It is as much a tongie in cheek chronicle of survival, as well as showiing how humor and wit can win over terror. The book has been published in several editions. In 1994, Sansusha publishers and P3 art and environment published a Japanese edition[1]. The publication was accompanied by an exhibition of photographs[2] chronicling everyday life under siege by Zelko Pulic curated by Ingo Gunther. Harpers magazine reviewed and excerpted the book in its November 1993 edition[3].
Survival Art Museum '94
The museum paid hommage to the ingenuity of survival with a collection of jewellery, sculptures, posters, fashion designs, stoves ,and comic books that had become manifestations of so called 'Survival Art' created during the siege. It was recreated and exhibited in Tokyo in 1996[4]. A much published Survival Map 92-96 was among the objects.[5] As of 2015 there are plans to build a larger museum based on the Survival Art Museum in Bosnia-Herzegovina under the leadership of Fama[6].
FAMA Collection
Is a collection of media and artefacts that aims to be the largest independent of multi-media projects documenting the Siege of Sarajevo (1992-1996) and related events to the Fall of Yugoslavia (1991-1999). The intention is to make it a "a virtual bank of knowledge for the future generations".
