The Pfaffenthal-Kirchberg funicular is an automated funicular, located in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg. It connects Pfaffenthal-Kirchberg railway station in the Pfaffenthal valley with Red Bridge tramstop, on the above Kirchberg plateau. The 200m long line, which runs on the slope adjacent to the Grand Duchess Charlotte Bridge, consists of 2 parallel tracks and reaches a maximum incline of 19.7%. The funicular has four carriages, which travel at a speed of 7 m/s when running in peak times, giving a journey time of 63 seconds. The line entered into service on 10 December 2017, along with the accompanying Pffafenthal-Luxembourg railway station and the first stage of Luxembourg's new tram line.[1]
