Beware of the Purple Butter is the 6th book in the spin-off series Give Yourself Goosebumps. It was released in June of 1996 on Scholastic Press. This book is different from the other books in the series because it has unique mini-games such as coin flipping and choices dependent on time of week or age of the reader.
The plot of the book is simple. You are off to spend the summer with your cousins Barney and Dora. Barney loves to bully you and Dora is the typical annoying little cousin. The house is pretty much free to roam but there is one restriction: you cannot go into the basement. In the basement there is a refrigerator that holds a jar of purple peanut butter or chocolate cake. The purple peanut butter makes you smaller and the cake makes you grown bigger. The reader chooses which one to pick.
