Lat Phrao Intersection
Lat Phrao Intersection or Lat Phrao Square (Template:Lang-th) is an one intersection of Chatuchak and Chom Phon sub-districts, Chatuchak district, downtown Bangkok. It's five-way intersection of Phahonyothin, Vibhavadi Rangsit and Lat Phrao roads and considered to be the beginning of Lat Phrao road. This intersection has a large crossing overpass which can be linked to many important places in Bangkok such as Vibhavadi Rangsit road (toward Don Mueang-Din Daeng), Phahonyothin road (toward Saphan Khwai, Victory Monument – Saphan Mai) and Lat Phrao road (toward Chok Chai 4, Bang Kapi). So it's considered one of the most important intersections of Bangkok and has other names were Mouth of Lat Phrao Intersection (แยกปากทางลาดพร้าว) or Central Lat Phrao Intersection (แยกเซ็นทรัลลาดพร้าว) etc.
Moreover, it's also surrounded by many utilities such as bus station, department stores, offices and public park include: CentralPlaza Lardprao, Union Mall, Chatuchak Park, Mo Chit BTS station, TMB Bank headquarters, Bangkok Mass Transit (BMT) headquarters, Channel 7, Horwang School, Chatuchak Park station, Phahon Yothin MRT station, Thairath headquarters, St.john's University and St.john's School, Magic Land and also close to Chatuchak weekend market (JJ market), JJ Mall, Mo Chit bus terminal, Queen Sirikit Park and Wachirabenchathat Park (State Railway Public Park).[1]
During January 13–February 3, 2014 it was used as an one protest sites for Yingluck Shinawatra's government in the campaign "Shutdown Bangkok" by People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC).[2]
From mid-May 2018 Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) organizes vendors on sidewalk near the intersection like other places such as Khlong Thom, Saphan Lek or Siam Square.[3]
