The Story of Light is the sixth studio album by South Korean boyband, Shinee. The album is set to release in 3 parts, with the first part releasing on May 28, 2018.[1] The album will mark Shinee's first comeback in Korea since 1 of 1 in 2016. This also marks Shinee's first official comeback as 4 members, following the death of member Jonghyun on December 18, 2017.[2]

Background

Hints of a new Korean album first came in mid-2017, when SM began talking about plans for a new SHINee comeback in the 2nd half of 2017.[3] However, the album was delayed, possibly due to Onew's sexual assault charges in September of that year.[4]

On April 30, 2018, SM Entertainment announced Shinee was making comeback plans to celebrate their 10th anniversary, releasing a teaser image, and the comeback schedule.[5]

The teaser for the first single, "Good Evening," was released on May 19, 2018.[6]
