The Moldavian coat-of-arms, introduced by the Bogdanids, carved on the walls of Cetăţuia Monastery in Iaşi.

The House of Bogdan was a ruling family which established the Principality of Moldova with Bogdan I, giving the country its first line of Princes, one closely related with the Basarab rulers of Wallachia. The Bogdanids are also popularly known as Muşatins (the "House of Muşat"), althought, strictly speacking, this name can be applied only to rullers succeeding Costea Muşat who became Voivode by marying the doughter of Bogdan I.
