Folk Radio UK is an independent online Music magazine that was founded in 2004[1]. They cover non-mainstream independent music which includes, but is not restricted to, Folk, Acoustic, Americana, World, Experimental and Alternative music. Its founder and owner is Alex Gallacher[1][2] (also the editor-in-chief) is situated in Somerset.[3]

They launched a new radio channel on Deezer which was launched as a specialist folk music channel in 2012.[4][5] In July 2017[6] they launched a dedicated weekly Folk, Acoustic and Americana Show on British online music streaming service Mixcloud. They also have three large curated playlists on Spotify which are updated regularly.
