Minken Fosheim (real name Birte Fosheim)[1] (born 20 March 1956; died 7 June 2018[2]) was a Norwegian actress and children's books author. She graduated from the Norwegian National Academy of Theatre and has since acted in various roles on stage, film, and television. Rather than working under a permanent contract with any particular theater, she worked as a freelancer.[1] She also had success writing books for children about composers, like Mozart, Grieg and Vivaldi.[1] Fosheim runed the children's theater Barne- og ungdomsteateret from her home in Oslo, an educational institution with 170 children.[3]
Her brother was the musician Lage Fosheim, known from the band The Monroes. She was married to André Wienskol – originally from France – whom she met when she was 21.[4] Together they have two sons.[1] Her oldest son, Tobias, has had a role on the Norwegian TV-series Nr. 13.[5]
