Navalur is a rapidly growing south suburban of Chennai, India and located just 5 kms from Sholinganalur junction along Old Mahabalipuram Road. Navalur is located between Sholinganallur and Kelambakkam and comes under Thiruporur taluk. This area was once a village(around 2010) but with the advent of IT Companies and the rapid development of the Old Mahabalipuram Road, it has become a bustling and most demanded location in Chennai. Navalur is a good residential area with many number of Flats coming up, mostly professionals from IT companies renting and buying apartments.

Shopping malls like VIVIRA mall, Grand Marina mall are located in this area with presence of HOTEL SARAVANA BHAVAN and Sangeetha restaurant.

Moreover, Navalur has become The Shopping Hub in OMR for nearby areas(Sholinganalur to Thiruporur) like Sholinganalur, Chemmanchery, Thalambur, Padur, Kelambakkam, Pudupakkam, Thiruporur, etc.. due to availability of International and National brand stores in this area.

Sholinganalur-Navalur-Siruseri zone consists of around 40% IT professionals in Chennai especially in ELCOT and SIPCOT campus.
