John Middleton (1827– 11 November 1856) was an English artist, known for his work in watercolour painting. He was a member of the Norwich School of painters.

Life

John Middleton was born in 1827 in Norfolk and was educated at Norwich Grammar School. He studied under John Berney Crome and Henry Bright. Middleton's father, who died early, studied and collected ferns: his mother was a painter of plants who exhibited with the Norwich Society. Middleton exhibited before he was twenty.[1]
